Rogers being recognized for his 500th rebound and scoring his 1000th point

Rogers was honored for his 500th rebound and scored his 1000th point with this crowd-pleaser.

The Alice Lloyd Eagles saw four players crack double figure scoring as they earned a big 90-48 victory over the visiting Royal Crusaders of Crown College last night. The non-conference game was played at the Grady Nutt Athletic Center.

In the opening half, the visitors came out of the gates well, as guard Josh Farmer kept his club close for the first ten minutes. However, sparked by the perfect 5-5 shooting of Cody Stumbo, and two dunks courtesy of Tyler Rogers and Trevor Tiller, the Eagles pushed the lead out to 14 (43-29) at intermission.

In the second half, it was all ALC. They blew the game wide open when Devon Mills came off the bench to provide a big shot in the arm.

For the winners (8-11), Rogers led the way with 14 points, including a crowd pleasing lob dunk that gave him his 1000th career point. He was also honored before tip-off for surpassing the 500 rebound mark in the victory at Boyce last week.

Stumbo and Mills each added 13, all of Mills points coming in the second half, while Tiller chipped in with 11. Stumbo also hauled down a game high 8 rebounds.

For the game, the hosts connected on 57% (35-61) from the floor including 60% (9-15) from long range. They were 64.7% from the charity line (11-17). The visitors connected on 43% (23-53) from the floor including 16.7% (2-12) from long range. They were 0-3 from the charity line. The Eagles won the battle of the boards 31-27, and dished out 17 assists compared to the guests 7.

The Royal Crusaders (2-10) were led by Farmer with 21 points.

The Eagles return to action on Saturday as they travel to New Albany, Indiana to face the Indiana-University Grenadiers. Tipoff is scheduled for 3pm.
