The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles journeyed to Indiana over the weekend to face the Indiana University Kokomo Cougars on Saturday and played Sunday in Richmond against the Indiana University East Red Wolves. Both contests were KIAC conference match-ups.

Poor field goal shooting cost the Eagles dearly as they fell to Kokomo, 79-65.

The opening half was tight throughout, but the visitors had trouble finding the hoop. Due to this, they trailed the Cougars at intermission by nine, 37-28.

In the second half, ALC’s shooting woes continued. This enabled IUK to increase their lead and hold on till the final buzzer.

For ALC (6-13; 2-6 KIAC), Carla Booth led the way with 23 points. Additionally, she added a team leading 8 rebounds and 4 assists. She was joined in double figures by Serena Nickell and Amber Shepherd, with 13 and 12 points respectively.

The Cougars (7-13; 2-5 KIAC) were led by Deja Felder with 15.

On the night, Alice Lloyd shot 31.5% (23-73) from the field including 27.8% (10-36) from long range, and was 75% (9-12) from the charity stripe. They also had 37 rebounds and 14 assists.

Kokomo shot 41.7% (25-60) from the field including 33% (6-18) from long range, and was 71.9% (23-32) from the charity stripe. They also had 55 rebounds and 12 assists.

IU East won in a high scoring affair.

The opening half was a blitzkrieg by East. Sparked by the backcourt duo of Mackenzie Campbell and Tia King, the hosts connected on 8-15 from beyond the three point arc and pumped in 61 first half points . They led by 29 points (61-32) at intermission.

In the second half, ALC tried to mount a comeback as they pumped in 58 points of their own. Even though they sliced the deficit in half, they simply ran out of steam.

For ALC (6-14; 2-7 KIAC), Carla Booth led the way with 31 points. She was joined in double figures by Bailey O’Bryan and Morgan Chestnut with 16 and 14 points respectively. O’Bryan led the club with 6 rebounds while Megan Jones had 4 assists.

The Red Wolves (14-8; 4-2 KIAC) were led by Campbell and King with 31 and 28 points respectively.

On the night, Alice Lloyd shot 41.5% (34-82) from the field including 14% (3-21) from long range, and was 67.9% (19-28) from the charity stripe. They also had 33 rebounds and 14 assists.

East shot 49.3% (35-71) from the field including 38.5% (10-26) from long range, and was 70% (26-33) from the charity stripe. They also had 56 rebounds and 20 assists.
