He finished the race in 34:52.  Freshman Chris Baker was right behind Montgomery, crossing the finish line in a time of 35:09.

After the meet, Eagle Coach Gary D. Stepp commented, “I am really pleased with the effort my runners. Unfortunately, we had an injury plagued year, which cost us several runners .We had several men who were either hurt or had to red-shirt this season. Next year we should have a full squad ready to go.”

The coach added, “They now know more of what to expect on this level, and of what they need to do to achieve their best. I feel that they are each hungry to improve, and I expect greater things from them next season.”
