The ALC golf team took part in the Union College Fall “Bulldog” Invitational on October 6th and 7th at Wasioto Winds Golf Course in Pineville, KY. Playing conditions for the tournament were anything but ideal as the weather was cold and wet. ALC met up with KIAC opponent Asbury University in the tournament.  The team shot 351 for the first round. ALC’s Jared Albright tied the best Asbury score with a 78, good for 22nd of 61 overall. ALC’s Tanner Blair beat Asbury’s second best score by one shot with an 81, good for 36th. During the second round, the ALC Eagles were playing much better, but the round was washed out by a torrential downpour.

“This is a very encouraging result,” stated Coach Robert Hamilton. “We are not far away from being competitive with teams like Asbury, in this our first year of playing a normal golf schedule.”

The team’s next tournament is this upcoming Monday and Tuesday (October 13 & 14) in Bardstown, KY at the St. Catherine’s Fall Tournament, which will be the largest event and the strongest field the team will see this year. St. Catherine’s will be the last tournament of the fall, however, the team has a Ryder Cup friendly scheduled with West Virginia Tech on November 1 at Stonecrest Golf Course in Prestonsburg, KY.
