BEREA, Ky. – KIAC officials released the softball All-Conference team, Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year and Coach of the Year on Monday, May 5th. Alice Lloyd College is pleased to report that Tori Price, a freshman left fielder from Noblesville, Ind., has been named to the All-Conference team. During the 2014 season, Price‘s excellent play led the Lady Eagles as she had a .475 slugging percentage, a batting average of .402, and a fielding percentage of .944.

Indiana University Southeast freshman Shelby Lucas was named the KIAC Player of the Year. Lucas ranked near the top among conference leaders in several statistical categories. She was 1st in hits (58), 1st in triples (10), 4th in batting average (.439), 5th in slugging percentage (.674), 2nd in runs scored (40) and 5th in runs batted in (36). Her 10 triples was also tops in the nation. Lucas was also named Player of the Week twice this season.

Indiana University Southeast freshman Jessica Leanhart was named the KIAC Pitcher of the Year. Leanhart ranked near the top in several KIAC statistical categories. The Grenadier freshman was 1st in earned run average (2.23), 1st in wins (18), 2nd in opposition batting average (.224), and 2nd in strikeouts (126). Leanhart was also named Pitcher of the Week six times this season.

Indiana University Southeast head coach Joe Witten was named the KIAC Coach of the Year. Witten led the Grenadiers to a first place finish in the KIAC regular season. IU Southeast finished the regular season 37-10 overall and 25-3 in conference play. They entered the conference tournament as the top seed, finishing the tournament 4-0 on their way to claiming the tournament championship. The Grenadiers will advance to the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round scheduled for May 12-14.
