Summer Orientation for all new Alice Lloyd students will be held on Saturday, June 21st, beginning at 8 AM. This annual event provides students with the opportunity to meet other new students, take guided tours of campus and dormitories conducted by ALC’s Resident Advisors, and learn more about the College. Various programs and activities are planned in order to familiarize students and their parents with the Alice Lloyd College experience.
The ALC Bookstore will be open from 11 AM until 4 PM for those wishing to purchase textbooks or Alice Lloyd merchandise. For anyone having questions, the Admissions Office, Financial Aid Office, Registrar, Business Office, and Academic Dean’s Office (all located in the June Buchanan Alumni Center) will be open from 11 AM until at least 4 PM. The Student Work Office, which is housed in the Brown and Green Building, will also be open at this time.
It is recommended that students visit the information tables that will be found at various locations on campus.
Here is a tentative schedule of the day’s activities:
8 AM – 9:30 AM – Registration – Campbell Arts Center
9:30 AM – 9:40 AM – Welcome – Campbell Arts Center
9:40 AM – 10:10 AM – Students will watch “Miracle on Caney Creek” – Campbell Arts Center
10:15 AM – 10:45 AM – Students will be introduced to the ALC Student Handbook.
11 AM – 1 PM – Students will be split up into four groups (Blue, Yellow, Green, and Red) and will attend discussions concerning the Student Handbook, the Student Work Program, academics, and fun facts about ALC.
Groups 3 & 4: ALC Fun Facts – Grady Nutt Athletic Center Gymnasium – There will be Student/Parent Activities in the gymnasium, which involve Student IDs, information booths, and evaluations.

Groups 3 & 4: Visit Admissions, Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid, Dean’s Office, and Business Office
3 – 4:30 PM – Students and their parents may tour the dormitories (optional).
Students and Parents: Please complete your evaluation of the Orientation as the day proceeds and turn it in after your group completes its rotation.
Please bring an umbrella in case of rain.
Please note that Miss Irma’s Café, which is located in Cushing Hall, will be open from 7 AM until 3 PM. The café offers gourmet coffee and specialty drinks, such as lattes, cappuccinos, and iced coffee. Students may also order various breakfast and lunch food items. Miss Irma’s Café also has free Wi-Fi and a large screen TV for your enjoyment.
