BEREA, Ky. — The Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) released the baseball All-Conference Teams, Gold Glove Team, Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and Coach of the Year on Wednesday, April 30th.

Alice Lloyd’s sophomore outfielder Alex Dapkus of Richmond, KY, senior pitcher Neil Dillon from Wayne, WV, and senior designated hitter Shane Pack from Louisa, KY were all named to the KIAC All-Conference Second Team. Dillon and Dapkus were also named to the Gold Glove Team.

Brescia University senior catcher Hank Stewart was named the KIAC Player of the Year. Stewart led the KIAC in batting average (.447), on base percentage (.537), slugging percentage (.807), total bases (121), runs batted in (68) and homeruns (12). He also ranked 6th in doubles (16). His .807 slugging percentage was also tops in the NAIA. He ranked 2nd nationally in runs batted in, 4th in batting average, 9th in homeruns and 11th in total bases.

Brescia University senior Andrew Shoulders was named the KIAC Pitcher of the Year. Shoulders led the KIAC in wins (10) and innings pitched (71). He also ranked 4th in earned run average (3.17) and 4th in opposition batting average (.282). His 10 wins also ranked him 6th in the NAIA.

Indiana University infielder Josh Beams was named the KIAC Freshman of the Year. Beams finished the season ranked 12th in KIAC in batting average (.359), 14th in slugging percentage (.474), 4th in triples (5) and 16th in total bases (74). His 5 triples also ranked 14th in the NAIA.

Brescia University head coach Aaron Biddle was named the KIAC Coach of the Year. Biddle led the Bearcats to a regular season 2nd place finish in the conference. Brescia finished the season 35-22 overall and 14-6 in conference play. Biddle and the Bearcats saw teammates Stewart and Shoulders named Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year. The Bearcats placed 9 players on the KIAC All-Conference Teams and also had a pair of teammates named to the conference Gold Glove Team.
