The Alice Lloyd women’s hoops team shined again in KIAC action, recording their third straight win last night on the road, defeating the Lady Eagles of Cincinnati Christian 83-76. With the win, ALC moves into the #2 spot in the KIAC rankings.

The first half was a tight affair with CCU determined to defend its home court. By the time the dust settled, the teams were knotted at 38 at halftime.

In the second half, Alice Lloyd unleashed a three-point barrage that catapulted them into the lead and kept them there until the final horn sounded.

ALC (14-7; 9-3 KIAC) found its leadership once again in senior forward Ariel Nickell who posted an impressive double-double with 36 points and 11 rebounds. Carla Booth was also brilliant, notching 15 points and 6 assists. Taylor Arthur continued her big play in the post, picking up 8 points and 13 rebounds. Scrappy guard Megan Jones tallied 10 points.

Cincinnati Christian (9-14; 5-7 KIAC) was led by 22 points from Beth Moorman.

ALC recorded 11 back-breaking 3s on the night, shooting at a red-hot 55% from behind the arc. Alice Lloyd also won the battle of the boards, 46-31.

The Lady Eagles return to Pippa Passes on Tuesday, February 11th, for a battle with KIAC #3 Asbury. Game time is set for 6 PM.
