On Tuesday, February 19th, the Alice Lloyd Eagles traveled to Berea, Kentucky to square off against the Berea Mountaineers. The Eagles fell behind early and were not able to recover, losing, 87-74.

ALC had high hopes of getting back in the win column against their hosts. Berea led 14-10 with thirteen minutes to go in the opening half, but gradually begin to increase their lead as the minutes slipped by. They held an eight point lead with 3:57 remaining (31-23), but closed the half on an 11-4 spurt to take a fifteen-point halftime cushion (42-27).

The Eagles would try their absolute best to come back in the second half. While ALC trailed by as many as nineteen early in the half (52-33), the visitors on the scoreboard were not about to fold their tents. The Eagles knifed into the Mountaineers lead, and with nine minutes left, only trailed by nine (61-52). Alice Lloyd would reduce the deficit to as little as eight, but were unable to get any closer. BC extended their lead down the stretch when Alice Lloyd was forced to foul to stop the clock.

Stuart Stamper paced the Eagles (12-13, 7-8 KIAC) with 18 points while Cody Malicoat continued his solid stretch of play, producing 17 points and 9 boards. Joining these two in double figures were Isaac Wilson (13 points), Cody Stumbo (12 points) and Tyler Rogers (10 points).

Next up, the Eagles will travel to Asbury on Thursday, February 20th. The game will tip at 8 PM. You can watch live coverage of the game here.
