BasketballPIPPA PASSES, Ky. — Alice Lloyd College is pleased to announce that it will be the host of the 2014 Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (KIAC) Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament. Games in the tournament’s Final Four, as well as the Championship games, will be played at the College’s Grady Nutt Athletic Center on Friday, February 28th and Saturday, March 1st.

The KIAC, one of the oldest intercollegiate conferences in America, was organized in 1916 and was originally established to allow member schools to compete in basketball. Today, the KIAC has twelve member institutions from six states competing in fifteen sponsored sports.

“Alice Lloyd is definitely looking forward to hosting this year’s KIAC Final Four,” said Gary Stepp, Alice Lloyd’s Athletic Director. “We have a very competitive conference, and know that the games will be exciting to watch. Our conference is the oldest one still in existence on our level and has a great tradition. Fans who attend will see some high caliber NAIA basketball in a good atmosphere.”

The tournament begins Tuesday, February 25th, with opening round games being played at the top 4 seeds. The top seed in the women’s draw is Point Park University, and Indiana University Southeast, undefeated in conference play, enters the men’s draw at #1. The winning teams advance to the Final Four in Pippa Passes.

The women’s Final Four games will be played at 1 PM and 5:30 PM on Friday, February 28th. The men’s semifinals will take place at 3 PM and 7:30 PM. Championship game times are at 1 PM for the women and 3:30 PM for the men on Saturday, March 1st.
