The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles were back in action at home on Saturday, December 14th, versus Ohio Christian University. The Lady Eagles were able to take this one pretty easily by a final score of 83-62.

Alice Lloyd was not only looking to build off of last Sunday’s victory over Carlow University, but also to avenge an earlier loss this season to the Lady Trailblazers.

ALC jumped out front from the start and never lost the lead. With about ten minutes to go in the first half, the Lady Eagles began to increase their lead. Leading 24-17, Alice Lloyd went on a 16-8 run to stretch their advantage to fifteen with about four minutes to go. ALC would ultimately take an eleven-point margin into halftime, 46-35.

Second half action would see the Lady Eagles stretch their cushion even more. The home team continued to pour it on as they outscored Ohio Christian, 37-27.

Alice Lloyd’s Ariel Nickell produced a double-double, scoring 21 points and gathering 11 rebounds. Taylor Arthur delivered another marvelous performance as the freshman also had a double-double, contributing 16 points to go with 11 rebounds.

Asia Woodson had 23 points for Ohio Christian.

Both teams were even for the first half in terms of shooting; however, Alice Lloyd clamped down on defense in the second stanza, holding OCU to 23% shooting from the field. The Lady Eagles also controlled the glass, outrebounding the visitors by the count of 50-37.

After going on the road to Pikeville on December 15th, ALC will receive a much-deserved mid-season break until January 4th when they will begin a four-game series at home. Their first match-up will be against Cincinnati Christian University at 2 PM.
