BOX SCORE/GAME STATS

The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles were back in action on Tuesday, December 3rd, in Grayson, Kentucky where they squared off with the Lady Knights of Kentucky Christian University. ALC was able to take care of business in this contest, winning by a score of 80-68.

The Lady Eagles were looking to get back into the win column, following a road loss to Ohio Christian, while KCU sought to extend its four-game winning streak. The game started off nicely from an ALC perspective, as the Lady Eagles were able to jump out to a 12-2 lead in the early going. ALC led by as many as fifteen points in the first half before claiming a 41-29 halftime advantage.

In the second half, the homestanding Lady Knights of Kentucky Christian refused to go down without a fight, going on a run by getting some stops on defense and knocking down shots from beyond the arc. With five minutes remaining in the game, KCU had whittled down the Lady Eagles’ lead to three points. However, ALC proved to be a bit too much as they pulled away in the closing moments to take the victory by a dozen.

Alice Lloyd’s superior first half performance proved to be the difference as both teams tallied 39 points in the second stanza. The Lady Eagles also shot a blistering 54% from the floor.

Surprisingly, Ariel Nickell did not record a double-double in this match-up. The senior forward gathered 28 points and hauled in 9 rebounds. Point guard Carla Booth, however, did have a double-double with 20 points and 11 assists while corralling 6 rebounds.

KCU’s Tanya Bowens had 19 points.

The Lady Eagles are on the road to Pittsburgh, PA for games against two heavyweight conference opponents. They will face Point Park University on Saturday, December 7th, at 1 PM, and Carlow University on December 8th at 1 PM.
