The Alice Lloyd Eagles traveled to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday, December 8th, to square off against the Pioneers of Point Park University. The home team defeated ALC in this contest, 106-84.
Alice Lloyd was looking for their third victory in succession against Point Park. It was a troublesome start for the Eagles after the Pioneers went on a 12-2 run within the first four minutes. It would not get much better for the guests in the opening half as their rivals went to the locker room up 48-30.
Point Park came out in the second half and extended their lead immediately as the home team went on a 7-0 spurt. It was pretty much the status quo from there as the Eagles were unable to mount a rally. PPU outscored ALC, 58-54, in the second stanza.
One of the bright spots in the game for ALC was Stuart Stamper. The senior forward went for 26 points while Cody Malicoat had 19. Tyler Rogers recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards.
PPU’s Gabe McNeal led the host team with 35 points.
The Eagles will rest through Finals Week, but will return on December 14th for a home game versus Indiana University East at 4 PM. The men will have to make a quick turnaround as they head to UPike on December 15th for a match-up that also tips at 4 PM.
