ALC Crochet Group

The ALC Crochet Group is ending the semester with two important projects:

1.    Nursing home donations—The group delivered specially made washcloths and lapghans to the local nursing home this morning (Monday, December 9th).

2.    A crocheted patchwork afghan as a gift for the family of Kevin BrownBrown is one of our students whose home burned earlier this week. The group will collect crocheted 8-inch squares and put them together into a nice throw for his family.  They will continue collecting them through Tuesday, December 10th. If you crochet and would like to contribute to this project, whether you have attended the group or not, the only guidelines are that the squares should be 8 inches (or as close to that as you can get!) and should be made from size 4 (worsted weight) 100% acrylic yarn, which is the type that is most commonly available (for example, Super Saver, Classic and With Love brands by Red Heart). Use any stitch or pattern (including granny squares) and any color. The group has some yarn available that could be used. If you would like some of the yarn or need to borrow a crochet hook, just let Ms. Bentley know.

You may leave items for the crocheted patchwork afghan project with Sherry Watts, Cindy Salmons, Donna Bishop, or Charlene Bentley.

The ALC Crochet Group will meet on Wednesday, December 11th, from 7 – 8:30 PM in JBAC 250.
