The Eagles Golf B-team played in a one-day junior varsity event at the Wasioto Winds Golf Course in Pineville, KY. The tournament was hosted by Union College.

Wasioto Winds is a difficult layout with numerous water hazards, the like of which the Eagles had not had the opportunity to be exposed to prior to this tournament. Randy Smith posted ALC’s lowest score with a 98. The Eagles’ overall team score was 483. The Alice Lloyd players were not the only players to shoot over 100 on this course, however, the result shows the great difference in quality of play between the Eagles A-team and B-team.

“This is our last official tournament of the fall, and reveals the degree to which we have to improve the level of our B-team if we wish to be more competitive in KIAC conference play,” said Coach Robert Hamilton. “There were many encouraging signs in the play of all of our players, and they all clearly have the talent to play much better.”

Coach Hamilton says that he plans to spend the time from now until March 2014 developing the playing ability of his second string players.

The Eagles will open spring play by hosting an invitational tournament on March 6th & 7th, 2014 at Stonecrest Golf Course in Prestonsburg, KY.
