Appalachia Day Collage

Alice Lloyd College will be holding its annual homecoming celebration, Appalachia Day, on Saturday, October 12, 2013. During this special event, hundreds of people will descend upon the campus in Pippa Passes, Ky. for a day of fellowship, food, and fun. Alumni members are welcomed back by their college family, and guests are treated to mountain music, crafts, traditional Appalachian games and storytelling, various sporting events, and an opportunity to meet some of the region’s published writers. Along with all of this, visitors to the banks of Caney Creek will enjoy the festival atmosphere and the natural display of fall foliage on the steep mountainsides surrounding campus.

This year, the College will be welcoming 36 Appalachian artisans, nine Appalachian writers, and a wonderful line-up of mountain musicians. Visitors will also hear from ALC’s president, Joe A. Stepp, and the College’s choir, the Voices of Appalachia, along with its bluegrass ensemble. For a complete rundown of special guests, events, and useful information, please visit this page.
