Volleyball Team

The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles volleyball team traveled to Berea, Ky. on Friday, September 20th, to take on Ohio Christian, the University of Pikeville, Johnson University and Carlow University. Here is a recap of the Friday and Saturday matches in the Spoonbread Smash Volleyball Tournament, which was hosted by Berea College.

Game 1

In their opening game, the Lady Eagles matched up against Ohio Christian. The set scores were 25-10, 25-15 and 25-7. Sarrah Huber had 7 kills for ALC while Sadie Slone had 3. Jamie Ginter recorded 2 digs.

Game 2

UPike 3

The Lady Bears of the University of Pikeville handed ALC its second defeat of the tournament with set scores of 25-10, 25-14 and 25-17. Katie McFarland had 4 kills for ALC while Delaney Pritchard had 3 digs.

The foe in game three for the Lady Eagles was the Johnson University Lady Royals. The Lady Eagles played tough, but dropped the match: 25-15, 25-11 and 25-15. Sarrah Huber and Katie McFarland had 5 kills each. McFarland also had 15 digs.

Game 4

CU 3

The last game for ALC in the Spoonbread Smash was the Lady Celtics of Carlow University. Carlow got the upperhand in the sets, winning 25-15, 25-10 and 25-12. Katie McFarland had 3 digs and 3 kills while Delaney Pritchard had 4 digs.

The Lady Eagles will get back out onto the court on September 24th when they take on Hiwassee College, a team they defeated earlier in the season.
