Meet Alice Lloyd College’s newest professor – Ms. Halie Smith.
Smith is the director of the Appalachian Entrepreneurial Development Program and also serves as a Business instructor. A native of Hindman, Kentucky, Smith is a graduate of The June Buchanan School (2007) and Alice Lloyd College (2011).
She received her master‘s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting in May of 2013 from Eastern Kentucky University. Ms. Smith has worked as an assistant for the Eastern Kentucky University Department of Management, Marketing, and International Business, and has worked for the Center for Economic Development, Entrepreneurship, and Technology where she developed an interest in teaching and entrepreneurship.
Last year, Smith studied abroad in China where she visited companies and learned about international business and the effects it has on globalization.
ALC is excited to begin its entrepreneurship program with Halie Smith at the helm, and looks forward to witnessing the many improvements the program has the potential to make in the region.
