Alice Lloyd College Softball, under the direction of Head Coach John Mills, is pleased to announce the signing of Notre Dame High School’s Kaylin Corns to an athletic letter of intent for the 2013-14 season. Coach Mills traveled to Portsmouth, Ohio on Monday, April 8th, and returned to Pippa Passes with the fresh signature of the Lady Titans’ star catcher.

Marshell Corns is seated on the bottom row, second from the left.

Kaylin has a solid arm,” Mills said. “She calls a great game and is very vocal. This young lady hits for percentage and has some power. I feel she will be a great asset to the program.”

The signing of Corns brings another high quality catcher to the team, which was something the Lady Eagles greatly needed. Megan Boswell, ALC’s premier catcher, will now have some relief behind the plate.

Alice Lloyd College Athletics and Athletic Director Gary Stepp are proud to welcome Kaylin Corns into the Eagles family! We look forward to watching her talents on the field next spring.

UPDATE: Read more about the signing in this article from the Portsmouth Daily Times.

Special note: In an earlier version of this article, the student’s name was listed as Marshell Corns. This was the name originally provided to us. We apologize for any confusion this error has made.
