The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles softball program celebrated its annual Senior Day on Tuesday, April 23rd. Departing senior Kayla Gooslin and early graduate Morgan Asher were recognized before the start of the team’s doubleheader with the University of Pikeville.

Gooslin‘s uplifting presence will definitely be missed next spring. The third baseman from McCarr, KY has been key in keeping her team upbeat and positive throughout the season.

Morgan Asher was injured earlier in the season when an errant pitch shattered her wrist. The loss of Asher in right field was a huge blow for the Lady Eagles. Despite her inability to play, the Manchester, KY native was an inspiration to her team and has been an example to them through her strong faith and Christian leadership.

The team also honored Dan Wilson, a student assistant with the team for three seasons, and they presented a game ball to President Joe Stepp from the program’s first big win, which came versus new conference foe Carlow University.

The Lady Eagles completed regular season play on April 27th in Pittsburgh. They will now set their sights on the KIAC Tournament. Alice Lloyd is the #7 seed and will face Point Park University in the opening round. The game is set to be played at 10 AM on Friday, May 3rd, at Millennium Park in Danville, KY.
