The ALC Lady Eagles hosted conference foe Brescia University in a weekend series. Below are the results of each contest.

April 20

Game 1

ALC-7; Brescia-9

Eight errors proved to be the Lady Eagles undoing as they dropped the opener. Trailing 7-1, ALC battled back furiously, scoring 3 runs in both the fifth and sixth inning to knot the score. Unfortunately, BU managed to score 2 in the top of the seventh and stop the rally. Kristin Fields had a huge game as she went 3-4 and knocked in 3 big runs. She was only stopped when her long fly was run down by Brescia’s right fielder near the fence. Kayla Gooslin and Whitley Albury each had two hits apiece for ALC as the hosts outhit their counterparts 11-10. Kayla Stambaugh pitched well in defeat.

Game 2

ALC-8; Brescia-7

Chelsea Brown’s sacrifice fly with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh lifted the hosts to the big conference win. The contest was exciting as pitcher Whitley Albury took to the mound for the hosts. Brescia scored one in the first only to see ALC answer in the bottom half of the inning with 4 of their own. BU managed to chip away at the deficit and eventually went ahead 7-6 after homering in the top of the sixth. At this point, Kayla Stambaugh took things into her own hands, as she smashed a fastball just fair over the left field fence to tie the score once more. After holding the Bearcats scoreless in the top of the seventh, the Lady Eagles wasted no time as they quickly loaded the bases. With one out, Brown connected as she drove a pitch to deep right field to easily bring home the winning run. Alice Lloyd produced 11 hits for the second straight game. They were paced by Megan Boswell with 3 including a double. She also drove in 2 runs. Stambaugh, Albury, and Taylor Short each added 2 hits. Stambaugh also had a double and drove in 2. Just as important, the Eagles committed no errors in the contest.
