L-R: T.J. Midkiff, Coach C.J. Lynn, and Ronnie Saylor

Alice Lloyd College Baseball, under the direction of head coach Scott Cornett, is pleased to announce the signings of Garrard County High School’s T. J. Midkiff and Ronnie Saylor to athletic letters of intent for the 2013-14 season. The Eagles’ coaching staff traveled to Lancaster, KY on Friday, April 5th, and returned to Pippa Passes with the fresh signatures of the two senior standouts.

“We’re very excited to have these guys come and be a part of our team,” said assistant coach David Hatfield. “Both of them will bring a lot to the program.”

Midkiff, a center fielder, and Saylor, a catcher, had wanted to attend the same school. Their coach, C.J. Lynn, a former player and graduate assistant at Alice Lloyd (Lynn graduated from ALC in 2010), encouraged the young men to consider his alma mater. After visiting the College’s campus in January, the two had made up their minds that Pippa Passes would be the perfect fit for them.

“We’re proud of C.J. and of everything that he’s accomplished in his first year at Garrard County,” Hatfield said. “We’re grateful to him for sending these talented players our way, and we wish him the best of luck for the future.”

Alice Lloyd College Athletics and Athletic Director Gary Stepp are pleased to welcome T. J. Midkiff and Ronnie Saylor to the Eagles family! It will be interesting to see what all these two get up to on the field next season.
