Going into the bottom of the fifth down 9-3, Alice Lloyd tried to get a rally going. They added two runs in the fifth to make it 9-5 to UPike. The Eagles would score three in the bottom of the seventh to cut Pikeville’s lead to one. In the top of the ninth, the Bears would get home an insurance run to make it 10-8. The Bears would retire Alice Lloyd in order to win the game.

Cody Hyden had 3 RBIs while Josh Arnold had 2 and Kevin Smith had 1. Ryan Burrow had to leave the game after pitching three innings due to a line drive hitting his pitching arm. He allowed 6 runs (5 earned) and 7 hits. Russell Sweeney gave the team some much needed innings in relief as he went five and one-third innings while surrendering 4 runs and 5 hits.
