The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles and the Lady Mountaineers of Berea College confronted each other on Tuesday night. The Lady Eagles gave a valiant effort but came up short, 50-43. The Seabury Center in Berea, Kentucky was the location for this conference battle.

Playing without Ariel Nickell for the second consecutive game, the Lady Eagles knew that scoring points would be difficult. Despite the adversities, Alice Lloyd held the Lady Mountaineers to single digits for the first 12 minutes of the first half. Alice Lloyd’s defense was stifling as they took a 21-18 lead into the locker room.

Unfortunately, though, the Lady Eagles couldn’t quite duplicate the feat in the second half. Berea took the lead early in the second, but Alice Lloyd would not go away. It was a tight affair for most of the second half, but the Eagles ran out of steam towards the end.

For the Lady Eagles (13-10, 6-5 KIAC), Lacinda Hack and Carla Booth had 9 points. Carla McDaniel just missed out on a double-double as she also had 9 points to go with 10 rebounds.

Berea (8-14, 4-5 KIAC) was led by Johnesha Warren with 11 points.

The Lady Eagles will have a much-welcomed rest until they take to the court again on Saturday, February 2nd.  After a 3-game stretch on the road, ALC will finally play again in the Grady Nutt Athletic Center where they will face IU Southeast at 2 PM.  The Lady Eagles will be seeking to avenge a heartbreaking loss to the Lady Grenadiers earlier in the season.
