The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles journeyed to Grayson to face the Lady Knights of Kentucky Christian University. The hosts shot a sizzling 53.4% to earn the 83-73 win.

In the first half, ALC had trouble finding the hoop against an opponent that is always tough, especially on their own floor. Due to their offensive woes, the Lady Eagles found themselves trailing the Knights 39-26 at intermission.

In half two, Alice Lloyd finally discovered their offensive rhythm as they put up 47 big points. Unfortunately, KCU maintained their solid shooting, as well, and used it to keep the visitors from pulling even.

For ALC (7-5), junior Ariel Nickell pumped in 29 points and hauled down 14 big rebounds to lead the way. She was followed closely in the scoring column by sophomore guard Carla Booth with 25 points.

Kentucky Christian was led by Tanya Bowens with 27 points.

The Knights (5-7) connected on 31-58 from the field, including 6-12 from beyond the arc. They also shot 75% (15-20) from the charity stripe.

The Eagles hit 44.6% (29-65), but only 13% (2-15) from downtown. This proved to be the difference in the game. They also finished 68% (13-19; Booth was 6-6) from the charity line.

The Lady Eagles will next battle Brescia University on December 8th. That game tips at 1 PM at ALC’s Grady Nutt Athletic Center.
