The Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles traveled to Wilmore, KY to participate in the Asbury University Classic. Below are recaps of each game.

November 16th

UC-Clermont 71

 

Ariel Nickell

Junior forward Ariel Nickell poured in 33 points and added 17 rebounds to spark the Lady Eagles to the opening victory.

The first half saw UC-Clermont look to play an up-tempo brand of ball. ALC was able to match their style, however, as both teams lit up the scoreboard. When the buzzer sounded, ending the half, Clermont led by only one point (45-44).

In the second half, the Lady Eagles stepped up the defense and put on a dominating performance. They limited their opponent to just 26 second-half points to win going away.

For ALC (3-3), in addition to Nickell‘s big night, sophomore guards Carla Booth and JJ Hickson also had impressive outings. Booth pumped in 15 points, added 3 rebounds, and a team-high 6 assists. Hickson chipped in with 13 points, and added 3 rebounds and 3 assists, as well.

Sophomore Hayley Smith also gave a huge effort, as the lanky forward tossed in 9 points and yanked down 10 big rebounds.

Forward Stacie Lee led Cincinnati (4-2) with 20 points.

Carla Booth

For the second consecutive night, Coach John Mills’s squad produced an excellent performance to earn a big victory.

In the opening half, the Eagles were in a battle. At the half, they had managed to pull ahead of the Lady Skyhawks 38-31.

In the second half, the Eagles maintained control as they outscored Point 37-29 and iced the impressive win.

For ALC (4-3), Ariel Nickell led four players in double figures as she tossed in 32 points. She also added 17 rebounds.

Sophomores Carla Booth, JJ Hickson, and Hayley Smith chipped in 16, 13, and 10 points, respectively, while Booth added 7 assists.

Point University (1-7) was led by guard Raven Bell with 21.

The Lady Eagles will next travel to Pittsburgh, PA on November 20th where they will face the Lady Celtics of Carlow University. The game will mark the first meeting between the two teams.
