A poor first half cost the Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles dearly as they fell to the visiting Milligan College Lady Buffaloes 97-80. The contest was played at the Grady Nutt Athletic Center Friday night.

The first half was all Milligan as they came out of the gates on fire. The Lady Eagles hurt themselves mightily as they committed 20 turnovers in the first 20 minutes. This propelled the Buffaloes to a 48-26 lead by intermission.

In the second half, ALC was able to reduce their turnovers and put up a much better offensive output. Unfortunately, the damage had been done as the hosts were never able to reduce the deficit within single digits.

For Alice Lloyd (2-2), junior Ariel Nickell led all scorers with 26 points. She also ripped down a game-high 14 rebounds.

Sophomore guards JJ Hickson and Carla Booth accounted for 20 and 18 points each. In addition, Hickson connected on 4 long range bombs. Freshman Kiana Hall led the team with 5 assists.

For Milligan (3-1), guards Tracy Hardiman and Kayla Kelly led the way with 17 points apiece.
