The Milligan College Buffaloes traveled to Pippa Passes last night and sneaked out of town with a hard-earned 83-67 win over the home standing Alice Lloyd College Eagles.

In the first half, both teams matched buckets for the first ten minutes of the contest. However, MC closed the half on a nice run while ALC went cold from the field. Because of this, Milligan managed to take a 39-27 lead by intermission.

In the second half, Milligan picked right up where they left off and pulled ahead by 17 points (48-31). At this point things looked bleak indeed for the hosts.

Fortunately, sparked by the inside power of big Terry Muse, the Eagles fought back.

ALC closed the gap to as little as 6 points on two separate occasions only to see the Buffaloes hit a timely bucket each time to halt the momentum.

For Alice Lloyd (2-2), Muse led all scorers as he muscled his way to 22 points. He also pulled down 8 rebounds; both were game highs. Also reaching double figures for ALC were Tyler Rogers and Stuart Stamper with 12 and 11 points apiece.

Milligan (2-1) was led by Cartree Pettis with 15 points.

For the night, Milligan outshot the Eagles 50% to 38%. They also won the all important battle of the boards 37-32.

The Eagles next face UPike away on Saturday, November 10th.
