The Alice Lloyd College Women’s Tennis team traveled to Richmond, IN last week to participate in the KIAC Tennis Tournament on Friday. Due to inclement weather, play was moved to an indoor facility in Dayton, OH, where the Eagles met Carlow University out of Pittsburg, PA.

Unfortunately, the team fell behind 0-3, dropping the three doubles matches despite holding late leads in two of them. This proved to be too deep of a hole to dig out of as the team went on to drop three of the six singles matches. The girls went down fighting, though, as senior Lydia Harris, playing at No. 1 singles, won her match 6-0, 6-2. Freshman Crilda Brown, playing at No. 5 singles also won, dispatching her opponent 6-2, 6-0, and freshman Kylie Clay was leading 6-4, 2-2 when play was suspended. Also competing for the Eagles were sophomore Amanda Ashworth and freshmen Courtney Puckett, Serena Nickell, and Noel Banks.
