The 2012 edition of the Alice Lloyd College Volleyball team will be the first in school history to fully compete in the KIAC Conference. Coach Jason Stowers, along with Assistant Jolene Watts, has fifteen women who will suit up for the Eagles this year.

Thanks to a very deep and talented recruiting class, the Lady Eagles have dramatically improved in the second year of the program’s existence.

Freshman hitters Shayla Brinegar, Sarrah Huber, Kristen Fields, and Breanna Goble have helped produce a strong front line, which also features strong middle play in returning senior Rebekah Bevins (who led the team in blocks last year) and skilled freshman Stacie Fitzpatrick.

Returning setters Haley Boggs, Whitney Hall, and Brittany Miller will be called upon to get the ball to the hitters while newcomers Allison Ball and Maricka Gibson should see playing time at setter, as well.

Digging and passing will be a strength for the Lady Eagles this season. The back row play will be anchored by middle Katie McFarland and also features a tenacious group of freshman, including Jamie Ginter, Emily Justice, and likely libero DeLaney Pritchard.

The Lady Eagles play their season opener this weekend at Cincinnati Clermont. The squad looks poised to have an exciting year on the court.
