McKinzie Miracle

McKinzie Miracle might be a small-town girl, but she has made some big-time achievements at Alice Lloyd College. A senior Biology major from Middlesboro, KY, this young woman has been a success both in the classroom and in her community. An excellent student, McKinzie recently claimed the highly-coveted Mary Mildred Sullivan Award, which is given each year to the best female student in ALC’s graduating class. Along with that impressive prize, she was also named the 2011 Worker of the Year, which makes it clear that McKinzie is dedicated to the College’s mission of producing leaders for Appalachia.

But she hasn’t stopped there. McKinzie has been committed to service, having worked as a Resident Advisor, and, as part of the College’s IMPACT Club, she cooked dinners for families struggling with illness at the Ronald McDonald House, picked up trash at Pride Cleanup, and participated in Operation Christmas Child. She’s also been an officer in the Student Government Association and Allied Health Club, as well as an ALC cheerleader and member of the College’s first-ever Dance Team.

“I’m lucky to have been given the opportunity to touch other peoples’ lives,” McKinzie said. “I am proud to attend Alice Lloyd College, and I have been blessed by all the things I’ve experienced since I’ve been here.”
