The USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association) has announced their Men’s Basketball All-American squad for 2011-12. Alice Lloyd College was well represented as sophomores Isaac Wilson and Terry Muse were both named to the exclusive team. 

 

 

 

Isaac Wilson

On the season, Wilson, a 5’11 point guard from Corbin, KY, led the Eagles in both scoring (15.6ppg) and assists (4.76apg). He connected on 40% from the field and 76% from the free throw line. In addition, he was selected first team All-KIAC by the league’s coaches. Among all USCAA teams, he finished among the top ten in the country in assists, and among the top 20 in steals, three-point field goal percentage, and free throw percentage.

Terry Muse

Muse, a 6’9 center from Pulaski, KY, was one of the nation’s most improved players. He definitely proved his worth by being a force on the defensive end. On the season, among all USCAA teams, he easily led the nation with a staggering 101 blocked shots in 28 games (3.6bpg). He also finished among the top fifteen rebounders.

Alice Lloyd College sophomore sensation Ariel Nickell was named to the USCAA’s exclusive Women’s Basketball All-American squad for 2011-12.

To say that Nickell had an exceptional season is like saying that the sun is hot. On the season, the 5’9 forward from Tazwell, TN, led the Eagles in scoring (22.46ppg), rebounds (9.5), steals (2.5) and blocks (18). She finished fourth in the country in scoring.

She connected on 43.5% from the field and 67.7% from the free throw line. Among all USCAA teams, she finished among the top three in the country in scoring and was among the Top 25 in rebounding.

In addition, last week, Nickell was selected as the Kentucky Intercollegiete Conference Player of the Year, as well as first team All-KIAC by the league’s coaches.
