The Alice Lloyd College Athletics Department has been working overtime this recruiting season. Men’s Tennis, ALC Softball, and Women’s Volleyball have already announced important signings, and now, Eagles Baseball and Women’s Basketball have begun a little name-dropping of their own. On February 1st, 2012, two Paintsville High School athletes decided to make Alice Lloyd College their home next season.

Tim Sublett, a solid baseball player at PHS, will be taking the field with the Eagles next spring. Sublett, 18, is currently undecided about his college major, but he knows that he’ll be an excellent addition to Alice Lloyd College’s Baseball team. We at ALC look forward to having this young man on campus.

Megan Jones, a stellar point guard for the Paintsville Lady Tigers, will be bringing her talents to Pippa Passes next year. This fierce and steady guard is known for her long range shooting, hitting big three-point baskets for her high school team and has even coolly knocked down buzzer beaters from behind the arc. In fact, Jones’s scoring prowess has landed her at #1 on WYMT’s Plays of the Week on two separate occasions. Jones has been an excellent floor general for the Lady Tigers and has usually been their leading scorer, so Coach Mills and the Lady Eagles can’t wait to have her on the roster for the 2012-13 Season. After embarking upon her college career, Jones plans to major in biology.

Congratulations to both of these accomplished young athletes!
