The Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles traveled to Wise, Virginia to play the University of Virginia-Wise Lady Cavaliers Tuesday night. Hampered by ice-cold shooting, ALC dropped a 77-55 decision.

UV Wise, a member of the perennially tough Mid-South Conference, lost 56-51 to the Lady Eagles in Pippa Passes on December 6th. Last night, they came out of the gates looking to exact a measure of revenge on their visitors.

Wise took their first lead at the 16:23 mark of the first half. Sparked by the play of Kristen Mullins, they extended their advantage to 34-21 at the break. The Lady Eagles were their own worst enemy as they shot a season low 17.6% in the opening half. In the second half, Alice Lloyd fought to keep the game close behind the offense of forwards Ariel Nickell and Carla McDaniel, but unfortunately, they were never able to mount a serious run. UV-Wise forward Chelsea Cluesman helped her club extend their lead until the horn sounded.

For ALC (5-16), Nickell and McDaniel were the only two players to score double figures. Nickell finished with a game high 22, while McDaniel added 12.

Wise (4-14) was led by Mullins and Cluesman with 18 and 17 points, respectively.
