Isaac Wilson, Alice Lloyd College

Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

5-8 Sophomore – Corbin, KY

 

Alice Lloyd College sophomore Isaac Wilson was named the KIAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week by KIAC officials on Monday, January 16th.

Alice Lloyd was 2-0 last week. They defeated Berea College on the road 76-57 and earned an overtime home victory against Brescia 75-72. For the week, Wilson averaged 21.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 7 assists, and 1.5 steals. He recorded 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists against Berea. The sophomore guard scored 21 points and had 5 assists against Brescia. He made 50 percent of his 3-point attempts (5-of-10) and shot 80 percent from the foul line (16-of-20). Wilson leads Alice Lloyd in scoring with 15.31 points per game and is ninth in NAIA Division II assists per game (5.56).

The Alice Lloyd Eagles are 10-7 overall and 2-1 in conference play. They will return to action on January 17th when they travel to Cincinnati Christian University for a conference game.

 

Ariel Nickell, Alice Lloyd College

Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

5-9 Sophomore – Tazwell, TN

Alice Lloyd College sophomore Ariel Nickell was named the KIAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week by KIAC officials on Monday, January 16th.

Alice Lloyd won all three games last week. They defeated Ohio Christian University (76-66), Berea College (60-51), and Brescia University (85-67). For the week, Nickell averaged 27.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 4.3 steals. She also shot 54.5 percent (6-of-11) from behind the 3-point arc. The sophomore forward scored a career high 36 points against Brescia and also had 10 rebounds. She recorded another double-double against Berea with 18 points and 13 rebounds. She is currently seventh in NAIA Division II points per game (20.4) and is ninth in total steals (54).

Alice Lloyd is currently 5-15 overall and 2-1 in conference play. They will return to action on January 17th when they travel to UVA-Wise.
