Alice Lloyd College will be given quite the treat when Jennifer Rose, a folk singer from Berea, KY, visits the campus tomorrow, November 29th.  Rose has delighted audiences all over the world with her gifts for Appalachian singing and for playing the dulcimer, a traditional Appalachian folk instrument.  A strong woman of faith, Rose will speak to students about various subjects, including the diversity within Appalachian culture, the influences of European and African music on American folk music, and other topics, which may include useful advice for overcoming obstacles and quality decision-making. With her love and deep respect for Appalachian culture and music, Rose is a perfect guest for our Caney Convocation Series.

Join us for convocation in the Estelle Campbell Center for the Arts, Tuesday at 1 p.m., for the opportunity to hear a fine presentation of our region’s musical heritage.
