The Alice Lloyd College Eagles, under the direction of Coach JR Hammond, are looking forward to a new season in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. All-conference performer Daniel Combs and second leading scorer Will Jones have graduated. However, after returning two key starters, several important role players, and a solid recruiting class, Hammond and his club hope to be in the hunt for a top 4 seed come tournament time. The key returning players include senior forward Brandon Hayes and sophomore guard Issac Wilson. Hayes (Jackson) had a solid junior season, finishing the year averaging 8.4 points per game while connecting on 58% from the field. He also led the team in rebounding, hauling down 6.5 per contest. He will definitely be counted on for leadership this year. Wilson (Corbin) had a solid freshman season as he finished third among the team in points per game (10.7) and led the club in assists (3.7). Senior Casey Dalton (Nancy) has worked hard over the summer to return from a foot injury, which caused him to miss all of last season, and Coach Hammond looks for the guard to bring both experience and heady play to the backcourt. Junior bruiser Brent Hall (Beaver) returns with his 5.3 rebounds per game and loads of hustle, whilestrong sophomore Terry Muse (Somerset) has made tremendous strides over the summer. Both look to be a pleasant surprise in league play this season, and Coach Hammond is depending on both for rugged performance in the paint. Sophomores Blaine Green (Middlesboro), Chris Evans (Mt. Vernon), and Craig Faulkner (Elliott Co.) have all made improvements, and each will be vying for minutes, as well.
