Tess Henderson, from the class of 2011 at The June Buchanan School, was named a 2011 Senator Jeff Green Scholar. This scholarly honor is given on the behalf of the late State Senator Jeff Green of Mayfield, who served in the General Assembly from 1992 to 1997.

Students who receive this honor earned a 4.0 grade point average all four years of high school and scored at least a 28 composite on the ACT. As Senator Jeff Green scholars, Tess is eligible for $2,500 a year in Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES) awards, meaning she can receive up to $10,000 toward her college expenses.

Tess Henderson is beginning her freshmen as a college at University of Cumberland where she will be majoring in Public Health in efforts to obtain a career in the medical field.
