The Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced that Alice Lloyd Colleges Jordan Stumbo and Chris Adams have been named to the 17 player KIAC Men’s All-Conference Baseball team.  The voting was conducted by the head coaches of each school in the league, and coaches could not vote for their own players.

Stumbo, a native of Somerset, Kentucky, and graduate of Pulaski County High School, had an exceptional senior season for the ALC Eagles. He was picked as the top second baseman in the league.

He was named All Conference for the second consecutive season after leading the team in the following categories: Batting average- .348; Runs scored-37; Hits-46; Steals-14; Total bases-55; and Stolen Bases-14.
He also finished second in RBI’s with 23. Furthermore, he received the team Gold Glove Award for his fielding prowess, as he led the team in fielding percentage.

When asked about his outstanding senior, Coach Scott Cornett replied,” Jordan has had an outstanding career here at Alice Lloyd. He is such a dependable and consistent player both offensively and defensively. He has an outstanding baseball IQ as well. Better yet, he is a fine young man, and he will be sorely missed by all his coaches and teammates.”

Stumbo is majoring in Social Studies Education, and is the son of Matthew Stumbo of Somerset and Saprena Curtis of Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Adams, a native of London, Kentucky, and graduate of South Laurel High School, definitely made a major splash in his inaugural collegiate season, as he was one of the top freshmen in the conference. He was selected as the top shortstop in the league.

He finished the season batting .333, while scoring 14 runs. His slugging percentage was .480. He also contributed 8 RBI’s, 7 stolen bases, and 7 Doubles. Furthermore, he was known for his dependable glove work.

When asked about his fabulous freshman, Coach Scott Cornett replied,” Chris is a young player with a great future ahead of him. He has been remarkably consistent this season.  He has a sweet swing and a very high baseball IQ. He possesses an unbelievable amount of potential. I look forward to coaching him for 3 more years.”

Adams is majoring in Biology- Pre-Med, and is the son of Christina McWhorter of London.
