Cordia native Zach Hurt poured in 25 points to help lead the Alice Lloyd Eagles to a 91-79 KIAC Conference win over the Cincinnati Christian University Eagles. The matchup took place at the Grady Nutt Athletic Center. The victory was the second consecutive for the home club.

In the early going, the game was all CCU. Sparked by big man Mohamed Fall, they jumped ahead 14-3 in the first four minutes.

ALC’s Hurt then got hot from the perimeter as the junior drained three 3-point baskets and scored 15 points over the remainder of the half. Inspired by his effort, the Eagles closed the period on a 45-19 run. They took a 48-35 lead at intermission.

In the second half, the Eagles maintained a lead between 12 and 20 points the entire half. Every time Cincinnati would make a run, Alice Lloyd would respond with a flurry of buckets to preserve their cushion.

For the victorious Eagles (6-18, 2-6 KIAC), a trio of seniors joined Hurt in double figures. Forward Will Jones (Manchester) tossed in 17, while guards Daniel Combs (Hazard) and Charles O’Steen (Hazard) added 14 and 12 points apiece. Freshman Issac Wilson (Corbin) added 9 points and a game high 7 assists, while junior forward Brandon Hayes (Jackson) ripped down a game high 9 rebounds.

For CCU (7-18, 1-8 KIAC), Fall led the way with 19.
