The road is never an easy place to win in the KIAC, but the Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles pulled out an important 59-55 overtime victory over the home standing Berea  College Mountaineers last night.

The first half was low scoring and dominated by defense. BC settled for a 28-26 lead at intermission.

In the second half, neither team could find their shooting eye, as the contest was a nip and tuck affair right down to the wire. At the end of regulation, ALC found themselves with the ball trailing by 2 (53-51) and only 6 ticks left on the clock.

On the inbounds play senior Nicole Lutes was fouled as she went toward the goal. The forward coolly swished both charity tosses to send the game into overtime.
In overtime, Lutes came through again. With 1:00 remaining and Alice Lloyd clinging to a 3 point lead, she buried a three point dagger Her big basket iced the game for the girls from Caney Creek.

For the victorious Eagles (10-13, 6-3 KIAC), they were led by freshman Ariel Nickell (Claiborne, Tn.) with a game high 23 points.

Seniors Lutes (Jackson) and Whitney Frazier (Louisa), along with junior Gemma Gray (Manchester) all added 10 points apiece. Gray and Frazier also added games highs with 8 rebounds and 3 assists respectively.

Berea (3-23, 2-10 KIAC) was led by Stephanie Householder with 19.
