The Alice Lloyd College Eagles belted out 14 hits and defeated home standing Johnson Bible College 12-3 on Monday. With the win, the Eagles handed Alice Lloyd head baseball coach Scott Cornett his 400th career victory.

Cornett is now in his 22nd season as the head mentor of the school, which is located in Pippa Passes, Ky. He was an All-American catcher at Alice Lloyd, where he graduated from in 1989.

ALC scored 2 runs in the top of the first. Second baseman Jordan Stumbo opened things with a double, and he was driven in by right fielder Kyle Potter. Third baseman Cody Hyden then lined a pitch up the middle to drive in Potter.

The Eagles added 3 more runs in the top of the fourth inning, and put the contest out of reach with a 6 run fifth.

For Alice Lloyd (4-2), Andrew Riley was the winning pitcher as he gave up only 2 hits while striking out 3 batters. Tyler Williams struck out 4 batters in 2 innings of relief, and closer Joe Stamper completed the last two innings.
