The Alice Lloyd Eagles played host last night to the Kentucky Christian University Knights in a non-conference matchup. The Knights entered the matchup red hot, as they had posted 8 consecutive victories. However, the Eagles rode a great first half to boost themselves to a convincing 92-81 victory.

In the first half, ALC jumped out to a quick ten point lead. Junior guard Zach Hurt (Cordia) came off the bench to score 8 consecutive points. Playing inspired basketball, the Eagles built upon this momentum and closed the half on a 20-8 run. They went into the locker room with a commanding 47-25 lead at intermission.

In the second half, Alice Lloyd opened up where they left off as they stretched their lead to 30 (66-36) following a bucket from senior guard Daniel Combs (Hazard).
At this point, Eagle guard Michael Lindon (Red Fox) drove to the lane for a contested layup. Lindon collapsed to the ground with a knee injury and left the contest not to return. His injury caused the momentum to shift in favor of the visitors.

The Knights refused to quit and managed to cut into the deficit. However, they never got closer than 11 points the rest of the contest.
For ALC (5-18) Combs led the way with 20 points. He was joined in double figures by four teammates. Hurt tossed in 17. Freshmen Isaac Wilson (Corbin) added 15. Junior forward Brandon Hayes (Jackson) and senior forward Will Jones (Manchester) each chipped in 13.

KCU (12-7) was led by Casey Jones with 18.
