Phi Beta Lambda is a national organization for students who have an interest in business.  One of PBL’s most important goals is to improve the community by providing quality service to others.  Throughout the last week of October, PBL members at Alice Lloyd College worked diligently to raise money for a worthwhile cause.  A $750 donation goal was set for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation.  Fundraising activities began on Monday with a bake sale, which lasted throughout the week.  All of the baked goods were donated by PBL members.  On Wednesday, PBL hosted the “Walk for a Cure.”  The campus participated in a two hour walk on the Purpose Road.  A table was set up during the walk to collect donations.  A ribbon ‘in memory of’ and ‘in honor of’ those affected by breast cancer was created for display.  We would like to give a special thanks to the ALC Radio Station and JBS Faculty & Staff for participating in the “Walk for a Cure.”  By the end of the week, PBL had greatly surpassed their goal of $750 by collecting $1,113.60 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure!
