On the weekend of September 24-26 a group of Alice Lloyd College Phi Beta Lambda students volunteered at Camp HOPE. Camp HOPE is provided by Hospice of the Bluegrass. The camp is for children ages 6-12 that have recently lost a loved one. Students acted as buddies to 6 grieving children. Throughout the weekend children participated in various activities and exercises to help them cope with their recent loss. Such exercises included healing hearts, comfort rocks, and a play. Apart from structured activities the children also had the opportunity to interact with each other while playing games and participating in a scavenger hunt. The camp was a life changing experience for both the children and the volunteers. Phi Beta Lambda is a national organization for students who have an interest in business. One of PBL’s most important goals is to improve the community by providing quality service to others. The PBL volunteers look forward to seeing their buddies at the upcoming Camp HOPE reunion!{nl}{nl}
