{nl}The June Buchanan School, a private institution serving grades K-12 located on the campus of Alice Lloyd College in Pippa Passes, Kentucky, began its 2010 fall semester on Wednesday, August 4.  The JBS faculty, staff, and students are anticipating an outstanding year both academically and athletically.      Mrs. Amanda Clark, Dean of The June Buchanan School, stated that “We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful school here in the mountains. Not only are the academics stronger than ever, but the environment is one that is built on a strong Christian background. We strive to provide our students with a variety of enrichment classes in Spanish, Physical Education, Art, Music, and Technology because we feel as though all students need to be introduced to more areas than just those of the traditional contained classroom.”  In addition to standard classroom instruction and enrichment classes, The June Buchanan School will also offer students in grades 8-12 the opportunity to participate in the new ACE (Art, Culture, and Enrichment) Club.  This club will explore various arts, including visual arts, theatre/performing arts, and language exploration.  Club members will have the opportunity to visit various educational places related to the topics they cover. The JBS community is excited about the new opportunities students will be receiving in addition to the already solid academic foundation which has been a JBS mainstay since its inception.  If you would like more information on The June Buchanan School, please contact us by phone at (606) 368-6108.
