{nl}JBS students may be small in number, but are big on talent! From high ACT scores to outstanding awards in the arts, the students have been blessed to excel.  Recently, two freshman students, Channing Everidge, and Elizabeth Bentley, won top honors in the Junior Division at the Kentucky State Fair.        Winter Innocence                                 Channing EveridgeChanning Everidge, the daughter of Steve and Angie Spady, and Jeff and Kathy Everidge, won the Grand Champion award with her oil painting entitled “Winter Innocence.” In addition to this great accomplishment, she was also presented with the prestigious Kentucky Commissioner’s Award.  She received a trophy and certificate for this top honor in the 4-H show.  Her winning painting is currently on display at the State Fair, along with the awards she has earned for it. Channing also received a blue ribbon for her mixed media pencil drawing entitled “Actions Speak Louder Than Words,” illustrating the importance of the protection of endangered tigers. Elizabeth Bentley with art workElizabeth Bentley, daughter of Charlene and Darrell Bentley, was awarded the Reserve Grand Champion award for her beautiful black and white pencil drawing entitled “Grandmother.”  It is also showcased in the award display at the Kentucky State Fair.  Besides being very involved in art, these two young ladies are the best of friends and give God the glory for their talents.
