{nl}Channing Everidge, a freshman at the June Buchanan School, recently attended the nation’s top arts academy for high school students.  Interlochen Center for the Arts, located in northern Michigan, considers applicants from over 50 countries to attend its highly regarded arts camp.  As a boarding school for the artistically gifted, Interlochen hosts students who are gifted in musical theatre, orchestral performance, dance, and visual arts. Channing is the first student in Knott County to be chosen to attend this esteemed summer arts program, where her emphasis was visual arts. She participated in Japanese book making, ceramics, drawing, and oil painting. Channing enjoyed meeting fellow artists from China, India, Hong Kong, and France, along with the other lucky U.S. students chosen to attend.  Channing is the daughter of Dr. Steve and Angie Spady of Leburn, and Jeff and Kathy Everidge of Ary. JBS congratulates her on this outstanding achievement!
