The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles traveled to New Albany, Indiana to face the KIAC’s top team, the Lady Grenadiers of IUS. By the time the final buzzer sounded, the home squad held the advantage, 87-74.In the first half, ALC connected on only 30% from the field and trailed 48-31 at intermission.{nl}In the second half, Alice Lloyd fought back several times. Indiana, however, got outstanding play from their bench as the Grenadier reserves accounted for 58 of the 87 points their team scored on the night. This helped them hold on for the win.{nl}For ALC (8-15; 4-7), sophomores Heather Martin and Gemma Grey tied for game high scoring honors with 21 apiece. Martin also added game highs with 13 rebounds and 4 steals, while Grey chipped in with 5 rebounds. Junior Nicole Lutes contributed 11 points to the effort.{nl}For IUS (19-8; 12-1), Guard Alden Krausse led the way with 19.{nl}The Lady Eagles have two games remaining, and both will have a huge impact on conference seeding. They return home on Wednesday night for their last home contest against the Cincinnati Christian Eagles in a 5:30 tipoff, and will close out the regular season on Saturday at Owensboro against the Brescia Bearcats. They will then begin KIAC Tournament play next Tuesday, February 23.
