The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles had three players register a double-double as they defeated conference foe Midway College 81-72.{nl}In the first half, ALC forward Nicole Lutes put on a shooting clinic. The junior forward connected on 6-7 from behind the arc, on her way to scoring 21 points, and propelled her club to a 44-30 lead at intermission.{nl}In the second half, with Alice Lloyd ahead by 13, Lutes picked up her fourth foul at the 15:08 mark and was forced to retire to the bench.{nl}Led by guard Kayla Shull, Midway used this turn of events to explode on a huge run. A Shull steal and bucket at 8:02 reduced the AC deficit to only one at 51-50.{nl}With 5:45 remaining and ALC clinging to a 59-56 lead, Alice Lloyd guard Gemma Gray found forward Allison Feltner for a bucket. Alice Lloyd then went on a 10-0 run over the next two minutes to make the score 69-56.{nl}Midway managed to get within five at 73-68 with 2:15 remaining, but clutch free throw shooting by Alice Lloyd shut the door once and for all.{nl}For ALC (7-13; 3-5), Lutes finished with a game high 23 points. She received great supporting help from Gray, who finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds.{nl}The sophomore duo of Feltner and forward Heather Martin played well as they added 15 and 14 points respectively and hauled down 11 rebounds apiece. For the game, Alice Lloyd dominated the glass, 55-32. Martin also had a game high 6 assists.{nl}For Midway (8-18; 4-5), Shull led the way with 20.{nl}Alice Lloyd returns home next Tuesday, February 9, as they look to avenge a heartbreaking 1 point loss they suffered at the hands of the Berea Lady Mountaineers earlier this season. Game time will begin at 6pm.{nl}# The Lady Eagles home contest with Cincinnati Christian that was scheduled for Saturday February 6 was postponed due to a snow storm in Cincinnati. The contest will be played on February 15 at 5:30.
